Referral from a Facebook Client for Powerpoint Installation
Hi, this is John Dale from GlobileNet again. It’s just in relation this time with a client that had been referred to me from one of our Facebook clients, which was very nice. He wanted to get the power point that was in a rather difficult area outside his garage.

Powerpoint Installation Challenges in Garage
When we installed it, we had some difficulties because they’d lined the garage walls after it had been wired. So the powerpoints were recessed into the panels and very difficult to take off. And I had to make a special bracket to actually lift the powerpoint off and sit it normally on the wall after we’d wired cables in and run some surface duct.
EV Charger Installation Request
Anyway, at the time, Ashish had said “Well, I would like an EV charger installed while you’re at it.” So I gave him a quick quote while I was there after having a good look around about the complication of wiring. And I had to do another job and I said “This is the price.” And he said “Well, can you come back later today?” And I said “Yes, I can. I’ve got to go to a job”, which we did.
Old Switchboard Wiring Difficulties
We returned. And when we did the EV charger, sometimes you don’t see these things, but the switchboard was a mess. It’s very, very difficult sometimes to get another wire in the right place in a very old switchboard, which I had difficulty with. Normally, it takes me half an hour. I actually took an hour and a half. But we honor our quote. So that was not something I was going to go back to ask for and say “well, I need a bit more remuneration.” So We took that on the chin.
Running Cables Through Double Brick Walls
We did run the cable slightly differently through the brick walls. It was all a double brick home, a brick veneer home. There were bricks underneath the floor. And we had to cut across the garage and make a neat link between it across the garage so that it wasn’t too intrusive.
Testing and Pairing the EV Charger
We installed and tested the charger and insisted he actually plug his car in because he was happy at that stage. We helped him pair it. He plugged the car and it was working.
Customer Satisfaction and Honouring the Quote
He was ecstatic with the result and with the cost as well, because we actually undercut the… I didn’t have enough in the quote to cover the circumstances we met. But as I said, we honour our quotes.
