Customer Introduction
Hi, this is John Dale from GlobileNet. I’m just highlighting another customer interaction. Phil had called a while ago and wanted to get some quotes for a range of different things around the house.
Free Consultation Approach
So as we normally do, we go and we do a free consultancy to evaluate the site, because I don’t believe, unless you’ve got a relationship with a client, there’s any point just putting a piece of paper to them or sending them an email with a quote. And we also need to understand the site in order to do that quote well.
Backyard and Pool Area Requirements
In this case, we had a backyard with a pool. There was a garage attached to the pool, separately to the pump housing. And he wanted power points with USB connections, and he wanted lights in that shed, which previously did not have any.
Weatherproofing and Safety Measures
So we worked out a way of how we were going to do that and how to make power points in a relatively non-standard environment, if you know what I mean. So we had put special boxes in to weatherproof it and to Earth the chassis, etc.
Outdoor Entertaining Area Lighting
In the back of his house, he also had an outdoor section where they do the barbecues and things. The lights were not switched the way he wanted them switched. They were too bright. He wanted to dim some of the lights, but not all of the lights.
Challenges of a Ridged Roof
It was a very a tight roof. I mean, you could remove the tiles, but there was a lot of ridges on it. So it’s very difficult when you have a ridged roof to get to the corners because they have a special cement that seals the tiles from the ridges. So you don’t want to damage that during work.
Importance of Roof Sarking
They also usually have sarking inside roofs these days. So If you’re going to break that sarking, and the purpose of that sarking is to be the secondary defense for a leak. So we generally will reseal sarking while we’ve broken it, but often people don’t. It’s not something you see until you get that breach, and then you got water flowing into your property.
Hairdressing Studio Lighting Needs
Anyway, at the front of the house, Phil’s wife had a hairdressing studio. The lighting was not sufficiently good for that area. They had large downlights, but they were pretty ordinary. And he needed some recommendations on how to change those. As it happens, I suggested that not only does he change them, but he add a couple of lights in that area.
Burned-Out Power Points
There were some special hairdresser benches which had power points on them. He had problems with those power points. They’d been burned out, things like that. So that was a bit of a special one. We had to look around through different units, subsequently, to give him an effective repair of those.
Full Proposal and Installation
Anyway, we gave him the full proposal that covered all the elements of that. He accepted the quote, of course. We went out and installed it over a couple of days. We had to return a couple of times for a couple of different reasons. But at the end of it, he was very happy with the installation.
Final Outcome and Customer Satisfaction
We solved his problem, both from his wife’s point of view and for him to work in his workshop at the back near the pool so that he could do his things in his man cave. If you’d like a variety of services delivered to you, please give GlobileNet at a call. This is John Dale. Thank you.
