Outdoor LED Lighting Failures & Electrical Fault Diagnosis
Hi, this is John Dale from GlobileNet here just another story in relation to a client that has been using us for many years actually in this case, Chirag wanted to have some outside lights. He’d been having lots of problems with the LED outside lights that were failing all the time and when I did an inspection, although it wasn’t a big job, I could see what the problems were.
Weatherproof Terminations, Tripping Issues & LED Light Failure
The prior electrician hadn’t really sealed the terminations properly, so that was causing tripping problems and dust and accumulation across the connectors is also seeping into the lights, so the lights were failing prematurely. Fortunately the lights were purchased by the customer in this case, so he was able to, after me disconnecting them, take them to Bunnings and get a refund under warranty. Perhaps not strictly the way the warranty works, but anyway in this case it was fair, I think because it only lasted him months, so no particular tricks there but when you do these outside lights, they’re not always especially these small ones they’re not always very friendly in terms of electrical installation. You have to make sure that you seal the joints properly, that you put the lights, in the right orientation, otherwise, you’ll get water seeping into them.
Junction Box Installation & Water Ingress Prevention
And it’s simple things instead of coming straight into a junction box with a cord, you come around the junction box and down, just like a S-bend in a toilet really, so the water dribbles away rather than coming into and threatening the insulation characteristics. So anyway, Chirag has moved since and used us since, but anyway he was very happy with his work obviously because he called us back again later, so if you want somebody that you’re going to call back later and can rely on their work, give us a call at GlobileNet. Thank you.
