Major Home Renovation Electrical Planning
This is John Dale from GlobileNet here just a customer story Anna had given me a call in relation to some major renovations they’ve been looking at in their new home. That included kitchen, floors, ceilings, it was a rather old home and it involved a lot of a flat roof which couldn’t be lifted and a very difficult sort of structure in which to run wires around .
Reliable Electrical Consultation and Three-Stage Quote
So when she’d called me, I’d gone to her house and had a look at the problems that they were that I would have, at least anyway and she obviously wanted somebody reliable and trustworthy because it was a major project. In that sense because I spent a lot of time with clients, it took a couple of visits at least and about two or three iterations of putting together the quote. It in fact included three stages of work. So the first stage was the disconnection and whatever.
Kitchen Electrical Phase, Smart Switching and Dimming
Second phase was the kitchen, third phase was some of the finalisation. They did want smart switching and dimming, so that added another dimension to the whole kit but fortunately, I have good skills in that area, and so did my boys .So we had a number of, we had to dig out the concrete to get to an island bench.
Complex Ceiling Cabling and Termite-Damaged Wall Cavities
We had to run cables through a very complex ceiling we had to run a lot of cables from an old section to a new section. We found that actually there was a problem in the very old section because there was a lot of problems in relation to termites not live termites but old termites. So when we were trying to wire something down a wall, we couldn’t run the cables because the cavity was full of old termite infestation damage.
Staged Renovation Pricing and Change Management
So this was a pretty difficult job all over, but we had quoted it in three phases our quotes are our commitment and so there was certainly no endeavour on our part to thrust any additional costs on them. Obviously when you do these projects up, a customer does change their mind because yeah, this doesn’t fit quite the way it was thought to and again, so you really need somebody that you can thoroughly trust not to try to rip you off during that change process. So I itemised all of the changes I couldn’t quote every change at the as it went.
Transparent Invoicing for Time and Materials Changes
Sometimes you can, but it’s a little bit difficult when you’re on the fly and you’re doing a job and on the same day you’re asked to change something. So, but I did keep a record of all those, provided that record to her, put numbers of time and materials against them and separately identified that in an email when we did invoicing. So stage one was invoiced, not really much of a change in that stage two was done and invoiced .
Professional Electrical Renovation Review
Stage three was where we had quite a few modifications and changes. So, but look, at the end of the day Anna said we are really happy with all the work completed by John and his team during our renovation. John tackled quite a few tricky issues and by the way, not just me, with great expertise. Always arrived on time, responsive, competitively priced, and professional from start to finish. So, if you want to participate with somebody that really cares about the outcome and not just, obviously we need to make a profit like everybody but we care about the outcome, we care about the good reviews from our customers.
Long Renovation Electrical Project Completion
And when you’re in a long project, that’s quite difficult. We’re talking about six months here. So you’ve got to be very consistent in order to get a good review from a client. So if you want to participate with us, please give us a call at GlobileNet. Thank you.
