Electrical Fault Finding – Intermittent Power Loss Diagnosis

Hi, this is John Dale again with your local friendly electrician. We had a problem that I had to resolve with a client called Annalise. Annalise called because they were losing power, and sometimes this is like a box of mixed chocolates. You don’t know what you’re going to meet when you go to try to resolve a problem with the client on this sort of thing.

And most of the time, there’s an immediate need to resolve the problem, particularly if you’re losing power in the kitchen or, you know, important areas, or indeed sometimes the whole of the power.

So the benefit by being local is that I can be there quickly for you. And the benefit from a client point of view also is that they get immediate relief. So we can often sort that problem out pretty quickly.

Remote Troubleshooting – Electrical Isolation & Appliance Checks

So we always call first. We try to resolve any problems that we can over the phone. Often you’re not able to. The clients problems are either not just in an appliance. Often people will turn the switch off thinking that’s a good enough resolution, but you need to unplug devices from a network from the power in order to isolate the power properly.

On-Site Electrical Repair – Temporary Fix & Parts Replacement

Anyway, so we went at pretty short notice actually, I think within a couple of hours, and we were able to get their problem resolved quickly, but there was an additional problem that we would have to go back for because of parts, which we followed up on the next day with. And so the solution was quick, the problem was resolved immediately, except there was a temporary sort of solution until we could go back and get the part that we needed.
