Well, I had a call from Bronwen, a long-time customer actually. Her husband was in a commercial environment, so I’ve been working for her for quite some time. She needed to have a few lights upgraded around her home, but also she wanted to put a yoga studio or create a yoga studio in her home and that required some sort of difficult wiring because they didn’t want to have any exposed wiring and the ceiling space it was a two-storey house, so the ceiling space wasn’t continuous into the room that they wanted to go to.

So their problem was that they really needed the studio because of COVID at that time, actually and in order to practise, they really needed the studio to be up and running at home and so the benefit for her was really very much a physical health as well as emotional health, right? so as we normally do, we do a consulting sort of process. We looked very intently at how we might be able to run these wires without causing a lot of damage.
Access Holes, Wall Patching and Creative Cable Routes
We had to cause some holes, but we had that discussion with her to say that, we patch the holes, but they would need to, have somebody decorate, professionally afterwards in order to, make it an invisible patch and she was happy with that and in fact, said, well can you also include the painter in your quote? So we provided the painter and we provided the service the solution, didn’t involve so many holes, but getting around the home when you’ve got good cavity walls with timber in the middle and no access from the top or bottom, you can sometimes go from the side, but you really have to be quite creative and make sure if you’re going to make an access hole that you make it big enough to really work with because otherwise you make a small hole, it takes a long time, and you’ve still got a small hole to patch at the end of it. Make a big hole, then you can, get a drill in even to drill through timbers .

The patching is not really a lot different we’ve got to add timbers from a support point of view, but it turns out to be a much better job.
