First-Time Customer Call
Hello there. It’s John Dale from GlobileNet. Again, just talking about some of our services and interactions with clients. And recently we had Denny call. He was a first-time call.
First-Time Customer Offer
We do have a program in the area, in a defined area, where the client, if they’re a first-time customer, will not pay the call fee, which is typically $100. So they only pay the labor component, of which there’s a minimum one hour labor.
Smoke Detector and Switch Issues
He was looking to change his smoke detectors, and he had a few flaky switches and things like that. I’ve had a discussion with him about what was required in terms of changing the smoke detectors.
Customer-Supplied Products
He asked me if he could buy his own. I said “That’s fine”, because really it’s his responsibility once he purchases the product and gives it to me to take care of any warranty aspects that are related to that, except for workmanship, of course.
Smoke Detector Testing and Interconnection
After fitting the smoke detectors, we do a test, not just to test the individual alarm, but to make sure that the interconnect works so that, for example, if it’s downstairs and the alarm is working or operating for a problem, it will actually alarm the upstairs one and vice versa. So he was quite impressed that we knew what we were doing in that regard.
Explaining Electrical Terms
Often people will come to me and say “Well, we’ve got a load of power points which are failing”, which is what Denny did. We understand that customers don’t know electrical language, but a power point is something which you plug something into, like a telephone charger, a TV, or whatever, that type of thing. And a light is a switch. So we talk about light switches and power points.
Clarifying Power Points vs Light Switches
To a client, it’s typically the same thing. So when they say “Oh, we want to change a few power points.” When I go there, I’m looking at a light switch quite often, which is fine. Usually, I have plenty of options for them anyway. But in this case, Denny had bought the replacement units anyway. In fact, he had a greater stock than I did, I think. Not that he wanted to change everything.
Customer Satisfaction and Review
So he was very happy with the service. He was always a little unsure when he invited somebody new into the house, but he realized that he was getting a good quality service. He did leave us a very good reference. It said “First time using John’s service to replace smoke alarms and power points. Very satisfied. He was friendly, a professional, reasonably priced.” I want to do that for you. So please give us a call. I am John Dale from GlobileNet.
