Lightning Strike Switchboard Failure
He had a problem after a lightning strike, actually and it was a stormy time and there was a lot of people that were not able to go and visit him. So when he called me, I just happened to be in the area, so I called in and had a look indeed, the lightning had caused the failure of one of his main items on the switchboard and it was fortunate because I just happened to have a spare managed to get him out of trouble very quickly so he was obviously very happy.
RCD Fault Diagnosis and Circuit Testing
One of the things in this situation is to actually, know what to look for, basically because the switches are not necessarily off, so it takes it’s a matter of removing the covers doing voltage or circuit tests and just honing in on where that problem lies. Sometimes it’s a fuse, sometimes it’s a circuit breaker and in this case it was what we call an RCD, which controls a lot of circuits, and we replaced it pretty quickly. So Doohwan was extremely happy, he said that we were courteous and professional, quickly diagnosed the lightning, of course the fault I couldn’t recommend GlobileNet enough if you wanted an honest, no messing around local electrician.
